Carol van Rooyen
The sparkling Carol van Rooyen is no stranger in the GIB office in Patensie. And from March this year she wears another hat. For the past ten years she worked for the Work for Water projects that are managed by the GIB and now she is the new inventory official. “I miss the chit chat in the busy office, but I love my new job and my new office,” says Carol who is now in control of general supplies, anything from pipes and fittings to paint and safety gear.
She was born in Kirkwood and matriculated at Kirkwood High School. After school she worked at the pharmacy in Kirkwood as well as the Sunday River Citrus Cooperation. In Patensie she did office work at PSB and the old co-op in town.
Carol has been married to Conray for the past 12 years and has two children, Kruger (9) and Alise (5). Conray’s business is Gamkor and also has the Kubota-tractor agency.
“We are privileged to work in such a beautiful office. I enjoy every moment,” she says.
