NOTICE 1/2018 Water Allocations
Dear Irrigator
Water allocations 2018/2019
Refer to SMS messages sent out on Thursday 15thJune with regard to the above.
This is to confirm that the Department of Water and Sanitation has introduced the following restrictions on irrigation from Kouga Dam for the 2018/19 water year which commences on 1st July:
20% of full allocation. This is 20% of 8 000 cubic meters per hectare, which is equal to 1 600 cubic meters per hectare.
The availability of this quantity is based on a conservative assumption with regard to the inflow for the full period. Irrigators are therefore requested to use the water evenly over the full year.
Please stay within the following pattern:

Water use will, as in the current year, be monitored properly. Irrigators who abstract excessively, will be reprimanded.

Verwys na SMS boodskappe wat op Donderdag 14 Junie uitgestuur was in verband met bogoenoemde.
Hiermee word bevestig dat die Departement van Water en Sanitasie die volgende beperking op besproeiing onder die Kougadam ingestel het vir die 2018/19 waterjaar wat op 1 Julie begin:
20% Van volkwota; dus 20% van 8 000 kubieke meter per hektaar Dit is gelyk aan 1600 kubieke meter per hektaar.
Die beskikbaarheid van die hoeveelheid is baseer op ‘n konserwatiewe aanname van invloei oor die volle tydperk. Besproeiers word dus gevra om gebruik van die kwota egalig oor die hele jaar te versprei. Indien die onttrekking te vining plaasvind, sal die dam leeggetrek word sonder dat almal hul volle kwotas kry. Die volgende patroon moet nagestreef word:

Soos die huidige jaar, sal onttrekking goed gemonitor word en besproeiers wat uitermatig onttrek, sal aangespreek word.
